Escape to Paradise: Your Dreamy Lefkada Sunset Villa Awaits!
Escape to Paradise: Lefkada Sunset Villa - A Review (and a Confession!)
Okay, so I’m just back from Escape to Paradise: Your Dreamy Lefkada Sunset Villa Awaits! and… well, let’s just say I'm still unwinding. Lefkada? Yeah, it's as stunning as the brochure promises. But let's be real, brochures lie. Kind of. This place? It actually mostly doesn't! So, buckle up, because this isn't your typical pristine review. This is the real, messy, sun-kissed truth about my (mostly glorious) escape.
First, the important stuff: Accessibility and Safety (Because, you know, LIFE!):
Right, before I get carried away with the beauty, let's talk practicality. This place is pretty good, but it’s not perfect for everyone. Accessibility: They do have facilities for disabled guests, which is a huge plus, but the accessibility of the entire property? I didn't need it personally, but I think the hillside location of the Villas is slightly…challenging. Definitely check the specific villa you're eyeing and call to see if it's accessible. It's not a flat, easy stroll, I'll say that much.
Cleanliness and Safety? Nailed it. I'm talking Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Hygiene certification, Rooms sanitized between stays – the whole shebang. They're taking COVID really seriously, which made me actually relax – a lot! They also have Hand sanitizer everywhere, and the staff are super diligent with their masks and protocols. Plus, the Staff are trained in safety protocol, so they are on top of it. I saw a First aid kit, and knowing there’s a Doctor/nurse on call added another layer of peace of mind I desperately needed! And there’s a Physical distancing of at least 1 meter, which is a bonus.
Honestly, I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief when I arrived. Knowing they were making the effort to keep things safe made the trip so much more enjoyable!
Now, the Good Stuff – AKA, the Escape part:
Okay, let's get to the fun! The name says it all, right? Your Dreamy Lefkada Sunset Villa Awaits! And it almost delivers on that promise. "Sunset" is the key word here. Seeing the sun dip below the edge into the Ionian Sea from my villa was… unreal. Honestly, just typing that makes me want to rewind and go back. The Pool with view was a literal dream. I'm talking perched on the edge of the hillside, overlooking… well, paradise.
The Room (My Sanctum!):
Okay, time to reveal something slightly embarrassing, the most time I spent in the room? I spent nearly a week. When I got there I felt like I needed to decompress and de-stress, my villa was AMAZING! More on that later as I'm getting too focused. Available in all rooms? Yes, they were! I had a Air conditioning machine, a Air conditioning in public area, a Alarm clock, and Bathtub. The Bathroom phone I don't think I used at all. I was too busy enjoying the Bathrobes and the Blackout curtains. There was a Closet, Coffee/tea maker, Complimentary tea, there was a Desk. A Desk! I didn't sit at that thing once. There was the Extra long bed, and Free bottled water! My favorite, it was Hair dryer, High floor, the In-room safe box was great, the Internet access – LAN, Internet access – wireless, there were Ironing facilities, and a Laptop workspace. I really wanted to use it, but like the Desk, didn't open it! They were the beautiful Linens, with the Mini bar, perfect! I was never sick of the Mirror. The room was Non-smoking. The TV was there, but with On-demand movies I never touched it. There was a Private bathroom, the Reading light was a lifesaver, the Refrigerator, and the Safety/security feature, was exactly safe. The Satellite/cable channels, but again, I never watched. I was completely obsessed with having a Scale there, but I never used it. They had a cozy Seating area, and Separate shower/bathtub. There was a Shower and the all important Slippers. I never used my boots. The Smoke detector was a must-have, and the Socket near the bed was genius. They had a great Sofa, and the room was Soundproofing. Incase I was noisy? There was a Telephone, some nice Toiletries, and Towels were always available. I had the Umbrella, but never used it. Visual alarm and the Wake-up service were useful, and of course the all important Wi-Fi [free]. The last thing I did, was open the Window that opens. I spent most of my time sitting on the balcony, enjoying the view, working on my tan, and trying not to think about work.
Dining and Drinking (Fueling the Dream!):
Let’s be honest, I'm all about the food. And Escape to Paradise mostly delivers. The restaurants offer a good variety. The A la carte in restaurant was pretty good, but I’m not sure if there was Alternative meal arrangement, but I didn't ask. They included Asian breakfast, and Asian cuisine in restaurant, I didn't try, and they had a Bar, of course! Bottle of water was amazing to have, and the Breakfast [buffet] was fantastic, but I did take the Breakfast takeaway service once, it was an utter nightmare. I really tried to find out about the Buffet in restaurant, I missed it, but the Coffee/tea in restaurant was good. There was a Coffee shop, and Desserts in restaurant, which I used. The Happy hour was a blast, and the International cuisine in restaurant was a real treat! The Poolside bar was a major draw. Think cocktails, sunshine, and that view. Pure bliss. They included Salad in restaurant, there was a Snack bar for good measure, and the Soup in restaurant was lovely after my swim. There was a Vegetarian restaurant. I didn't try it, and finally, the Western breakfast, and Western cuisine in restaurant. The Room service [24-hour] was a lifesaver on those days when I just couldn't be bothered to move.
Things to Do (Or Not!):
The beauty of this place is you can do as much or as little as you want. I chose a lot of not! But, it's there if you're feeling energetic. Things to do: There's a Fitness center (I peeked inside. Looked scary!), a Gym/fitness, a Swimming pool, and a Swimming pool [outdoor]. There is a Spa! But I can't really talk about them as I didn't use them.
Internet (Because, even paradise needs a little connection!):
Internet access is available, but I mostly just wanted to disconnect. There's a lot of Internet access – wireless, in the rooms, but to be honest, I spent most of my time trying to avoid it! I think they have Wi-Fi in public areas and they have the Internet [LAN] for the serious computer users.
Final Verdict and a Desperate Plea (Book Now!):
Okay, here's the deal. Escape to Paradise: Your Dreamy Lefkada Sunset Villa Awaits! is a fantastic escape. It's not perfect – no place is. But the sheer beauty, those sunsets, that pool view… it’s worth it.

Uncover the Magic: Yemaya de Laiya's Cocotel Batangas Paradise!Alright, buckle up buttercup, because this isn't your pristine, Instagram-filtered travel guide. This is ME in Lefkada, Greece, circa… well, now. And it's gonna be messy, glorious, and probably involve a lot of feta cheese. We’re aiming for Kathisma Sunset Villa bliss, but knowing my track record, we’ll probably stumble into a whole heap of chaos along the way. Here goes:
Lefkada, Greece: My Gloriously Imperfect Week
Day 1: Arrival & That Initial "OMG, LOOK!" Moment (followed by immediate sweat)
- Morning (or what passes for it after a red-eye flight): Touchdown in Preveza (PVK) airport. The air… it hums. That humid Mediterranean hum. Instantly felt my hair frizzing into a magnificent, untamed beast. The rental car, this little Fiat Panda they tried to convince me was "spacious"… Hah! We managed to squeeze in the luggage (mostly). Google Maps, bless its robotic heart, guided us through winding roads. Already, I was starting to feel that ‘holiday brain’ – you know, that blissful state of barely functioning logic.
- Afternoon: Kathisma Sunset Villa! Pulled up to the villa… And, honestly? My jaw, dropped. I actually made some embarrassing noises (like a strangled walrus) when I saw the view. The Ionian Sea, stretching out as far as the eye could see… with turquoise water you could swear was Photoshopped. The villa itself? Gorgeous. Clean lines, that infinity pool that needed to be Instagrammed, and the promise of endless sunsets.
- Immediate Imperfection: It was HOT. Like, melt-your-eyeballs hot. The air conditioning took a while to kick in, so I spent a good 20 minutes just trying to breathe and moaning. Then, after the first refreshing water splash in the pool, I found out I forgot my goggles and my nose clip. Oh well.
- Evening: Sunset & That First Ouzo We finally settled in. Cracked open a bottle of local wine, and watched the sunset explode across the sky. Pink, orange, purple… it was like a painter had gone absolutely bonkers. The best part about travelling? That perfect moment of absolute bliss.
- Dinner Mishap: Decided to be ambitious. Tried to cook a simple pasta dish. Burned the garlic (classic!) and accidentally added about a gallon of olive oil. Ended up calling it "rustic" and eating it anyway. Accompanied it with a potent shot of Ouzo that burned all the way down. Worth it.
Day 2: Beach Bliss (and the Sand-Everywhere Situation)
- Morning: Kathisma Beach! The star of the show. This beach is legendary for a reason. Miles of soft, golden sand. The water? That dreamy turquoise. Spent the morning just… being. Reading a book (or, let’s be honest, staring at the view). Took a dip in the sea – freezing at first, blissfully refreshing after. Realized I've never been good at swimming in sea waves, that I need to keep practicing, always.
- Beach-Related Incident: Got caught in a rogue wave. Lost my sunglasses (RIP, expensive sunnies), and swallowed approximately a liter of seawater. Emerging from the surf, I resembled a drowned rat, but with a huge, salty grin. Sand. Everywhere. In my hair, in my ears, in places I didn’t even know existed.
- Afternoon: Lunch & Local Eats Found a taverna on the beach and devoured a plate of grilled octopus. Seriously, this octopus was just perfect. It was salty, grilled to perfection, and just enough.
- Quirky Observation: Greeks have this way of eating with their hands that’s both elegant and utterly practical. I tried. I failed. Ended up covered in tzatziki.
- Evening: Exploring Lefkada Town Drove to Lefkada Town. Wandered through the narrow, charming streets. Got lost (naturally). Found a little shop selling handmade jewelry and spent WAY too much time (and money) browsing.
- Emotional Reaction: Felt a surge of sheer joy witnessing this town. So alive with colour, music spilling from tavernas, the air thick with the scent of olives and something indefinably Greek.
Day 3: Boat Trip & Over-Enthusiastic Snorkeling
- Morning: Embarkation! A boat trip along the coast! This part was seriously magical. Cruising along the coastline, stopping at hidden coves with impossibly blue water.
- The Snorkeling Saga: Snorkeling was a… learning experience. First off, I panicked. Second, I had difficulty dealing with the mask. I kept fogging up, and swallowing sea water. However, I did spot some fish!
- Afternoon: Floating around blissfully Back on board, we had the lunch included.
- Evening: Dinner with my Favorite sunset. Greek dancing and the realization that I had to do it. Not much to say. I was terrible. Great fun.
Day 4: Waterfall Wanderings & That Moment of "Lost in Translation"
- Morning: Dimosari Waterfalls! Okay, these waterfalls are tucked away in a little gorge. The hike down was pretty easy and beautiful, until I realised I don't like walking around wet, and the rocks are slippery.
- Rambling Confession: I’m not a huge fan of hiking. I get distracted by the butterflies, the birdsong, my own thoughts… I'm trying to improve my overall physical state, so I keep telling myself it is great for me.
- Afternoon: Back to the Villa & Recovery That waterfall hike wiped me out. So, back to the villa. Lounged by the pool, read a book, and generally let my muscles recover.
- Quirky Observation: The sun in Greece is different. It's stronger, more intense. Even with sunscreen, I’m starting to resemble a lobster.
- Evening: Dinner and a hilarious language barrier moment. Went to a local taverna. I tried to order dolmadas (stuffed grape leaves). The waiter, bless him, didn’t understand my mangled Greek. I ended up accidentally ordering a whole plate of deep-fried zucchini flowers. They were delicious. I still have no idea how to say "stuffed grape leaves" properly.
Day 5: Wine Tasting & The Search for the Perfect Gyro
- Morning: Wine Tasting! Visited a local winery. Learned about the local varieties and, of course, sampled some (or several) glasses. The wine flowed, the stories were told, and my rosy cheeks matched the colour of the rosé..
- Emotional Reaction: I LOVE wine. Wine is good.
- Afternoon: Gyro Quest. On my endless quest for the perfect gyro. Tried a few different places. Each one delicious but, I came across the best one!
- Messy Structure Moment: I ate 2 gyros.
- Evening: Sunset Again! Spent the evening back at the villa, watching the sunset. Every single one is unique, and absolutely breathtaking. I feel like I could stare at sunsets for hours.
Day 6: Island Hopping (sort of) & Post-Beach Meltdown
- Morning: Island Hopping on the Beach!
- Beach Meltdown: Feeling the effects of the sun, sand, and endless delicious food. I had a bit of a minor, but real, meltdown on the beach. Everything feels too intense, too hot.
- Afternoon: Rest and Reflection. Back at the villa, I took a proper nap. After waking up, feeling much better, which made me embrace some solitude.
- Evening: Final Sunset Feast. Cooked a simple meal. Watched the sunset, one last time.
Day 7: Departure & The Promise of a Return
- Morning: Last breakfast at the villa. A bittersweet moment. Packing up, saying goodbye to that incredible view. The drive to the airport..
- Emotional Reaction: The feeling of pure joy and a little sadness. I will absolutely come back.
Overall Impression:
Lefkada is… magical. It's a place that pulls you in, makes you laugh, frustrates you, feeds you delicious food, and leaves you wanting more. It's imperfect, it's messy, and it’s utterly unforgettable. And that’s exactly why I loved it.
Stevenage Family Getaway: Stunning 3-Bed Skyvillion Home Awaits!Okay, so "Escape to Paradise"... Sounds a BIT much, doesn't it? Is it actually paradise? Be honest!
Alright, alright, before you picture shimmering unicorns and flawless sunsets… let's be real. "Paradise" is a loaded word. Was it PERFECT? Nah. But listen, the first time I saw that sunset from the villa's balcony… My jaw *actually* dropped. I'm not kidding! The colors! They were insane. Like, fiery oranges bleeding into this deep, moody purple. And the air? So clean, smelling of the sea and something wonderfully floral I couldn't identify. We arrived with a toddler screaming, and a suitcase that exploded, but honestly, that sunset bought me a solid week of good vibes. So, paradise? With a healthy dose of reality? Yeah, probably.
What's the villa *actually* like? Photos always lie!
Okay, so… the photos are *mostly* accurate. But remember, they're taken at the best angles, under perfect lighting. The villa is gorgeous, seriously. Beautifully designed, with that classic Greek-island vibe. White-washed walls, big windows, plenty of space. We had a *bit* of a panic when we first got there, since it was a struggle to keep the toddler away from the pool, and the kitchen was a little bit too close to where the living room was for my liking – meant a lot of shouting. Also, the air conditioning, while present, seemed to have a mind of its own. Sometimes ice-cold, sometimes… lukewarm. Oh, the washing machine, while technically worked, took *ages*. But look, the views! You wake up to them every morning! And the pool? Divine. Just… divine.
Is it truly a "sunset villa"? Do you actually *see* the sunset well?
Okay, this is important. The *sunset*… It's the main event. And YES! YES, YOU DO. From the balcony, from the pool, from the kitchen window whilst washing up… It's like the whole villa is designed to *worship* the setting sun. One evening, we were having a BBQ, the aroma of grilling lamb filling the air. Then that glorious orange ball started its descent. I just stopped everything, grabbing a glass of wine, and just stared. No talking. Pure, blissful silence. Even the toddler was mesmerized, bless her. Yeah, it's worth it for the sunsets alone. Worth *every* single penny. Seriously.
Lefkada… Where *is* it exactly? Am I going to be stranded in the middle of nowhere?
Lefkada is one of the Ionian Islands in Greece. It’s connected to the mainland by a bridge, so you *can* drive there, which is what we did. The drive was…long. And the sat nav led us astray for a bit. But, no, it's not the middle of nowhere. There are little villages nearby with tavernas and shops, but the villa felt secluded, which was exactly what we wanted. You're not going to be totally isolated, but you're *definitely* escaping the big city chaos. I think the nearest town was Nidri, it has a port, shops, there’s a beautiful waterfront. You can take boat trips, all that touristy stuff. It's great, but I was happy to be away from the hordes. (Though, admittedly, I might have missed a decent souvlaki place at one point!)
Is the villa kid-friendly? We have small children…
Hmm, that's a tricky one. They *say* it is. And, yes, we managed with our toddler but… it wasn't *ideal*. As mentioned, the pool is a major worry, though the villa had a fence, you need to keep a very close eye on the little ones. Some of the furniture might not be the most practical for tiny hands. There were stairs, too. (Endless stairs!). The kitchen could do with a bit of a child-proofing. So, kid-friendly? Manageable, certainly. But you'll need to be vigilant. I think I spent half the holiday just chasing after my daughter and shouting, "Don't touch that!" (Sorry, kiddo!). On the plus side, there were some fun things about the place for kids, although not really thought out for them, but my daughter absolutely loved the balcony she could look out from.
Okay, so, let's talk logistics. How do I get there? What's the food situation like?
Getting there: We rented a car, which I'd recommend. It gives you the freedom to explore. We flew into the airport near Preveza (PVK), which is on the mainland and then drove. Roads are pretty good, but the last stretch can be windy. Food: This is where things get *delicious*. Go to the local shops! Stock up on fresh produce – the tomatoes are amazing! Local olive oil! Fresh bread! There are supermarkets too, but the small, family-run places are the best. Oh, and the tavernas… Mamma mia! The food is incredible, especially the seafood. We ate at one place, I can't remember the name, but they had the freshest grilled octopus I've ever tasted. It was basically a religious experience. The owners were lovely, very welcoming and helped us with the local language. Definitely try to get some of their cuisine! It was some of the best food I had ever tasted in my life!
What's the best time of year to go?
Honestly? I'd say late Spring or early Autumn are your best bets. The weather is warm, but not scorching hot (which is important if you've got little ones). The crowds are thinner then, which is a *huge* bonus. We went in July, and while the weather was perfect, the beach was packed! And navigating the tiny streets in the car was a nightmare. I'd love to go back in September, when the water is still warm and the tourists have mostly gone home. Imagine, having that pool all to yourself... Pure bliss. You just gotta avoid peak season. Don't be a sucker like me! Unless you thrive on the tourist madness, of course, you do you!
Would you go back? Honestly.
Absolutely. Despite the toddler chaos, the wonky AC, the slow washing machine, the slightly perilous stairs… I would go back in a heartbeat. I'm already dreaming of those sunsets, the smell of the sea, the taste of that grilled octopus… I miss it, actually. The only thing that I'd change? I'd go for a longer stay. We only went for a week, and it just wasn't enough. I still dream of paradise and I would absolutely recommend it!
